JoAnne M. Foody, MD, is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Cardiovascular Wellness Center at Brigham and Women’s/Faulkner Hospitals in Boston. Dr. Foody is a national expert on heart disease prevention, particularly in women.

Dr. Roger S. Blumenthal, MD, FACC, FCCP, FAHA, is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Blumenthal was the principal developer of the Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease, and he is the Director of Preventive Cardiology at Johns Hopkins.

Ed Roccella, PhD, MPH is the moderator for Sister to Sister’s expert roundtable discussions and a member of Sister to Sister’s Medical Advisory Council. For nearly 30 years, Dr. Roccella was Coordinator of the National High Blood Pressure Education Program at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Dr. Walter Willett is Professor of Epidemiology and Nutrition and Chairman of the Department of Nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Willett has focused much of his work over the last 25 years studying the effects of diet on the occurrence of major diseases starting in 1980 in the Nurses’ Health Studies I and II and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study. Together, nearly 300,000 men and women with repeated dietary assessments are providing the most detailed information on the long-term health consequences of food choices.

Dr. Willett has published over 1,000 articles, primarily on lifestyle risk factors for heart disease and cancer, and has written the textbook, Nutritional Epidemiology, published by Oxford University Press. He also has three books book for the general public, Eat, Drink and Be Healthy: The Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating, which has appeared on most major bestseller lists, Eat, Drink, and Weigh Less, co-authored with Mollie Katzen, and most recently, The Fertility Diet, co-authored with Jorge Chavarro and Pat Skerrett.

Henry R. Black, MD, MACP is a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and the Director of Hypertension Research at the New York University School of Medicine in New York City. He is President of the American Society of Hypertension, and a member of the Joint National Committee on the Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of High Blood Pressure.

Nancy Houston Miller, RN, BSN is the Associate Director of the Stanford Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. She is an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Nursing and also the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Additionally, Ms. Houston Miller is a member of the Joint National Committee on the Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of High Blood Pressure.
