To celebrate its 5th year in the St. Louis community, Sister to Sister will be holding three Women's Heart Health Fairs.  Come join us at these free, informative and fun events that features lifestyle presentations, cutting-edge information on medical issues, and complimentary heart-health screenings.

St. Louis 2009 Community Council

Sister to Sister's Community Council is a made up of a group of select women from the corporate, government and non-profit worlds who come together to help plan the National Women's Healthy Heart Campaign.  These local leaders pass on our heart-health message to the women they influence in their communities.  They are aware of how critical it is to promote awareness of heart disease among women, and understand the need to turn knowledge into action.

Our Community Council members assist the Campaign with program planning, outreach, promotion and sponsorship sales.  We truly appreciate their efforts in helping to save the lives of women in the St. Louis area.

Denny DeNarvaez

Denny DeNarvaez is the Honorary Campaign Chair of the St. Louis Community Council.  She has been a health care industry executive for many years, and is the CEO and President of St. John's Mercy Health Care. It was Denny's shared vision regarding women and heart disease that led to St. John's role in supporting the Campaign.  She has been a wonderful asset to the St. Louis Healthy Heart Campaign.

George Roman

George Roman is vice president of Government Operations for Boeing Integrated Defense Systems. He manages IDS' nationwide State and Local Government Operations organization, integrating its efforts with legislative and business initiatives.  Roman is also responsible for interaction with community leadership and for business continuity planning in the region. He helps identify areas where its leadership and philanthropic giving will have the greatest impact.  Sister to Sister is pleased to welcome George Roman as Co-Chair of the 2009-10 Campaign.

Patty Arnold

Patricia (Patty) Arnold is the President of the St. John's Mercy Foundation supporting St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur and St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri through philanthropy services.  She serves on the executive team providing insight on how philanthropy impacts the provision of services and programs as well as outreach, educational, and research efforts within the various departments in a health care environment. 

Amy Burroughs is the Sales Director for Fox 2 -KTVI in St. Louis.

Marsha Chappelow

Marsha Chappelow was recently promoted to Superintendent of the highly ranked Ladue School District in Ladue, MO. Martha has volunteered her time in supporting Sister to Sister since 2005.

Marlene Crabtree has been an employee of Nordstrom since 1995 and has achieved Pacesetter status numerous times. 

Lynn Deane is the Associate Publisher of St. Louis Woman magazine and has played a huge role in supporting Sister to Sister's effort in St. Louis since 2005. She has served in a variety of roles including Co-Chair of the Campaign, Community Council member and volunteer since 2005.

Mary T. Dolan is the director of Community Affairs for Fox 2 - KTVI in St. Louis and was instrumental in facilitating Fox 2's tremendous support of the Sister to Sister Campaign in St. Louis since 2005.

Lori Fiegel has served as the Director of Strategic Planning for St. Louis County for many years. Lori has been very generous with her time in volunteering at our Health Fairs and other events since 2005.

Virginia Frank is the V.P. of Operations for St. John's Mercy Heart & Vascular Hospital.

Marie Glancy

Marie Glancy is Chief Operating Officer of Mercy Health Plans and joined the Council in 2008.

Debra HollingsworthAs Vice President External Affairs, Debra Hollingsworth manages community relations programs for AT&T and directs public affairs functions for Dave Nichols, president of AT&T-Missouri.  Her primary responsibilities are overseeing AT&T Foundation grant and charitable giving programs for Missouri.  Her many honors include being named one of the Most Influential St. Louisans in Business by the St. Louis Business Journal in 2008.  She has been a Community Council member since 2007.

Beth Kistner is a Creve Coeur City Council member and has been an active supporter of Sister to Sister since 2005.

Doug McCoy is the Store Manager of the Nordstrom West County store. He was recently awarded the company's highest recognition, the John W. Nordstrom award, made to one employee around the U.S. each year.

Vivian Moore is a retired administrator of the Rockwoods School District. She has been an amazing volunteer for Sister to Sister. Vivian is a heart attack survivor and has been a guest speaker at our events and other events around the St. Louis area.

Nancy Nietz is a Nordstrom employee and has generously supported the Campaign in St. Louis since 2005 with her time and energy.

Jill Saunders

Jill Saunders is the director of Corporate Communications for the Build A Bear Workshop that is based in St. Louis.  She has been a Council member since 2007.

Carl Schultz

Carl Schultz is the President of the St. Louis region for Mercy Health Plans.

Jill Schupp

Jill Schupp is a newly elected Missouri State Senator from the 82nd district. She has been a tremendous supporter of Sister to Sister since 2005.

Lauren Spellmeyer is the Marketing Director for West County Center in Des Peres, MO.  This has been the venue of Health Fair for the last two years.

Joyce Townser is the Regional Coordinator of Women's Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Region VII in Kansas City. DHHS has supported our Campaigns each year as a sponsor.

 

Jane Unger is Director of Marketing and Outreach, Women's Services for St. John's Mercy Health Care. She has worked closely with Mark Gorski on the Campaign activities for the last two years.

Tuck Van Dyne is the Chief of the Office of Women's Health for the State of Missouri. Tuck played a key role in assisting the campaign since 2005 and he has helped its success greatly.

Jill Wise

Jill Wise is the Human Resources Director of Nordstrom and has worked tirelessly on our Campaigns for the last two years. She has helped secure dozens of Nordstrom employees as volunteers for our events.

Deb Wolfmeier is the Cardiovascular Marketing Outreach Coordinator at St. John's Mercy Heart & Vascular Hospital and has played a key role in driving the success of our Campaigns in St. Louis over the last two years.

Sister to Sister has dedicated professionals in St. Louis that work year-round to raise awareness about heart disease in women.

Mark Gorski, Campaign Manager
Mark has served as the St. Louis Campaign Manager since June 2005.  From 1995 to 2003, Mark was the CEO of Tailwind Sports in San Francisco, which owned and managed the U.S. Postal Service Pro Cycling Team led by Lance Armstrong.  Mark competed in cycling for 17 years and was a 1984 Olympic Gold medalist.

Priscilla Visintine, Campaign Media / PR Director
Priscilla has supported the St. Louis campaign since June 2005.  Priscilla is Agency Founder and Principal of Carden Group Communications and has more than 16 years of experience implementing strategic public relations, marketing and communications strategies for clients in a wide range of industries.
