Calorie Counting Works to Manage Weight

Weight management boils down to calorie intake. To achieve and maintain a healthy weight, the number of calories you consume should equal the number of calories that your body uses. If you’re trying to lose weight, the balance must shift so that the number of calories your body uses is higher than what you consume. To lose 1 to 2 pounds per week, reduce your caloric intake by 500 to 1,000 calories per day. Losing just 5 to 10 percent of your body weight produces many heart healthy benefits!
