Chicago 2009 Community Council
Email this pageSister to Sister's Community Council is a made up of a group of select women from the corporate, government and non-profit worlds who come together to help plan the National Women's Healthy Heart Campaign. These female executives are local leaders who pass on our heart-health message to the women they influence in their communities. They are aware of how critical it is to promote awareness of heart disease among women, and understand the need to turn knowledge into action.
Our Community Council members assist the Campaign with program planning, outreach, promotion and sponsorship sales. We truly appreciate their efforts in helping to save the lives of women in the Chicago area.
 | Vanessa Atkins has over 15 yrs of Health-care Finance experience. She is an advocate for women's health-care because she believes that if each woman reaches out to just one other woman, we can empower all women to take charge of their health and be the best that they can be. I am honored to be a part of Sister to Sister.

 | Jen Brandt is a nursing student at University of Illinois-Chicago working on her Masters of Science in Nursing. She will soon be an Advanced Community Health Nurse and aims to work to raise awareness and improve people's education about chronic diseases like heart health and diabetes. |

Sara Labowitz has ten years of healthcare public relations experience and is thrilled to be on the Sister to Sister Community Council. Ever since donating bone marrow to a 14 year old boy with leukemia, she has wanted to use her skills to help a healthcare related non-profit organization.

Shilpa Rupani works as a Senior Account Executive and Event Coordinator for the Chicago Sky Women's Basketball Team. | |
Beth Stremel works for Community Health Charities and is responsible for establishing employee giving campaigns with organizations in Illinois. In this capacity she has the opportunity to promote the work of 40 area health charities. She is interested in promoting healthy living, providing education, screening and resources to individuals to improve their health and feels that working with Sister to Sister will be another avenue to pursue this mission. | |

Steven Tamaroglio serves as our media advisory member on the Sister to Sister Community Council. He presently works as Marketing and Promotions Director at 93.9 WLIT-FM in Chicago, the flagship adult contemporary station that reaches women all across Chicagoland.
