If you gave birth prematurely or your baby had a low birth weight, you may be at greater risk for heart disease, found two recent studies in Denmark and Sweden. Researchers aren’t certain if a predisposition to heart disease leads to early birth or smaller babies or if it’s the other way around. Either way, if you fall into these two categories, consider asking your doctor to closely monitor you for heart disease, including cholesterol and blood pressure checks.
