The Food and Drug Administration recommends a low-dose aspirin (81 milligrams) a day to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Still, speak to your doctor before starting a daily regimen, as aspirin therapy is not right for everyone, particularly those at risk for gastrointestinal bleeding.
