After a high-fat meal, your blood vessels constrict, making your heart work harder to pump blood. Researchers at the University of Maryland found that drinking green or black tea with your meal may counter those negative effects. The tea appears to help the blood vessels dilate more quickly. If you are going to drink tea, just be sure to skip the milk. A recent study found that milk counters the positive effects of the tea.

Drinking hot tea is very relaxing for me, especially in the evening before bed. It helps me to destress and is part of my bedtime ritual for winding down.

This is actually really interesting information. I've always thought that it was okay to have some fat in your diet. I thought that the ingestion of fiber has a lot to do with fat absorption and it isn't always bad on your heart. I will check with my doctor about my assumption on my next visit, but has anyone heard if the fiber-fat connection is true?

It is best advised to take black teas in between these meals because green teas usually work when the stomach is empty preferably in the morning thereby aiding it to increase our metabolism.

I have never been so interested in discussing this point of view with my friends. I think the problem is actual and living in our hearts.

Oh I never heard of this trick. I will for sure share it with my raw food books community. In the better Chinese restaurants it's even common to serve green tea with the dinner, so now I understand why they have this tradition.

I am very pleased that I was able to find such a great resource for gaining a deeper knowledge on the topic. It is always very important to study various opinions, evaluate them and get hold of a best answer for any question someone may face. That is exactly what I got here, surprisingly, free of charge. Thanks a lot!

I totally agree with this! Indeed there is more to it. It is best advised to take black teas in between these meals because green teas usually work when the stomach is empty preferably in the morning thereby aiding it to increase our metabolism. However, black tea could be consumed at any time and it dilates the constricted blood vessels after a high fat meal much faster! Make sure you drink tea at least one hour before or 30 minutes later the meal!
