Protein takes longer to digest than carbohydrates or fats, so you feel full longer. In fact, new research shows that people who include 25 percent of calories from protein lose more weight than those who include only 12 percent of protein in their diet. So, be sure to include some protein, along with carbohydrates and fat, with each meal and snack. Good protein sources include low- or no-fat dairy products (milk, cheese, and yogurt), peanut butter, nuts, poultry, fish, and lean meat.

You bring up such a great point that most people are busy during the week and often resort to eating fast food. A good tip that I have picked up along the way, is to try to prepare as much fruits and vegetables on a Sunday to start off the week, to have a quick snack to hold you over. Also, you can prepare meats for a full balance of protein, stick them in the fridge and they are ready to go when you want them! A quick bag of pistachio nuts can go along way also and they are very healthy for you!

It is indeed really hard to find knowledge on topics like these. You've been a great help for people like me who actually know nothing about food health and balanced diet. I think that it is even because of the fact that we are to busy to think about those facts. I am actually quite busy on all the weekdays and I happen to eat most of all my meals off from fast food restaurants. So, I guess that is the main reason I don't eat healthy. But, now I guess I should be a bit more conscious about choosing my diet. Choosing good full of protein and energy food, rather than only choosing junk foods.
