Sister to Sister

Maureen Bunyan joined Washington's ABC-7 News as a primary news anchor in 1999.  Prior to WJLA, she spent 22 years at WUSA-TV, where she won a reputation as a clear-thinking, clear-spoken and fair-minded newsperson.  Ms. Bunyan has been a leader in her profession and an outspoken advocate for women and minorities in the newsroom. She was a founder of the National Association of Black Journalists (1975) and of the International Women's Media Foundation (1990), which serves women journalists in 100 countries.  Ms. Bunyan is the recipient of several honorary degrees and has been honored by numerous local and national groups. Ms. Bunyan has been the Co-Chair of the Washington D.C. Community Council since its inception, and serves on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations. 

Jami Bailey is one of the leaders in Washington, D.C. Weight Watchers, and she participates in many health outreach programs. At Sister to Sister's Womens Heart Health Fair, Bailey led a presentation that was very inspirational to the audience.

Margaret Bell is employed at Weight Watchers and has been a wonderful resource for the DC Community Council.

Judy Holland-Burton is the Senior Vice President of Washington Sports and Entertainment. In this position, she builds community involvement for D.C.'s professional sports teams, as well as showcases local children's dance talent during halftime shows.

Katrina Clemons is a manager at Grant Thornton LLC, an accounting firm based in Chicago, IL.

Kathleen Coleman, RN, BSN, MPH serves as the Cardiac Outreach Coordinator for Adventist Healthcare and has done extensive work with the Sister to Sister Foundation since 2000. She has played a significant role in many programs, including visits to nearby campuses where she gives free medical advice.

Linda Roth Conte is the founder and President of Linda Roth Associates, LLC, a PR firm based in Washington, D.C. that focuses on hospitality public relations. She has developed marketing and publicity campaigns for independent and chain restaurants, hotels, associations, wine, beer and spirits companies and non-profit hospitality organizations.

Abby Fenton is WJLA-ABC 7 and NewsChannel 8's Director of Community Relations. She also serves as the Director of Partner Engagement at the DC Chamber of Commerce and the Director of Audience Engagement and Development at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.

Phyllis Gaskins is employed at the Smithsonian Institution.

Frances Ashe-Goins is the Deputy Director of the Office on Women's Health and is a registered nurse, health educator, policy analyst and innovator. As a Deputy Director, she participates in the formulation of policies, goals and activities related to women's health. She has also created many innovative programs to address HIV/AIDS.

Rose Harvell is a director for the cosmetics company Mary Kay. She currently resides in Temple Hills, Maryland and is very active in many outreach programs in her community.

Kaye Hayes is the Senior Advisor for Policy for the Office on Women's Health and for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Before this position, Hayes was the Special Assistant to the Surgeon General and Assistant Secretary for Health.

Kathy Hill is the current Sales Marketing Manager of WJLA-ABC 7 and NewsChannel 8, where she develops strategic marketing plans to increase profits. She is also the Sales Marketing Manager at allbritton communications.

Pamela Holman is the Coordinator of the Contributions and Membership Committee of Pepco Holdings, Inc.  In this role, she is the charitable contact for the company. She also contributes to the Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children organization.

Darlene Jackson is the Promotions Director at WHUR 96.3 at Howard University, of which she graduated from in 1985.

Soohyun "Julie" Koo is the current Executive Director at the Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs in Washington, DC.  Throughout her career, Koo has used her tri-lingual language fluency in Korean, Chinese and English to aid other Asian immigrants adjusting to life in the United States.

Beverly Kozak focuses on health administration and healthcare at Occupational Health Services for the Smithsonian Institution. She was also on the board of directors and chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Metropolitan Washington Association of Occupational Health Nurses.

Judy Lichty is the Regional Director of Health and Wellness for Adventist HealthCare.  She has been involved with the development of many programs, including Cardiac and Cancer Outreach, Maternal Child Health and Community Health Education and the Low-Income Breast Cancer Screening Program. Lichty serves on the Adventist Community Services Board and the National Wellness Council.

Renee Nash is the Director of Information and Public Affairs at WHUR-FM. As a journalist, she has covered local and national politics, healthcare reform and civil rights, among many others. Nash is also on the board of many organizations including the Edith P. Wright Breast Cancer Foundation and Sisters of Hope.

Lisa Delpy Neirotti is an Associate Professor at George Washington University in D.C., and serves as a Consultant for both SFX and Octagon. She is one of the world's foremost Olympic scholars and Director of the Masters of Tourism Administration and Sports Management Programs at the GWU's School of Business.

Virginia Pancoe is currently a Sales Marketing Manager at WJLA-ABC 7 and NewsChannel 8 since 1997. She is also a Co-Chair of the Silver Circle of the NATAS National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter.

Catherine Ruhl, CNM, MS, is the Associate Director of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses. She writes many articles giving information and advice regarding a variety of women's health issues.

Gina Sacripanti is the Director of Business Development and Marketing at The Washington Examiner. Previously, she was the Chief Operating Officer for FDIC Federal Credit Union. She received her MBA from George Washington University in 2006.

Susan Sanders, M.S., acts as a Public Health Advisor for the Office on Women's Health, US DHHS. For the office, she serves as the team leader for Lupus Education and Awareness.

Angela Simmons is the Events Coordinator for the D.C. Department of Health. In this position, she has organized many health outreach programs in the district, including the Wellness Initiative Health Fair.

Ann Taubenheim is a Public Health Advisor at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute in Washington, D.C. She has made many public speeches on women's health issues.   

Barbara Teng is a retired technology executive and a heart attack survivor. She has dedicated herself to women's heart disease prevention.  She serves on the Sister to Sister Community Council of Washington, D.C. and volunteers as the Director of Health Services for the Chinese Cultural and Community Service Center. She was featured on a Lifetime TV segment that was part of the network's "Health Corner" series.

Ngoc Trinh is the current Outreach Coordinator at the Mayor's Office on Asian Affairs and is on the office's Outreach, Education and Advocacy Committee. She has organized many programs throughout D.C. and focuses on safety.

Bonnie Wood is currently the Promotions Manager at WJLA-ABC 7 and NewsChannel 8. She graduated from Emory and Henry College with a BA in Mass Communications/Broadcasting.
