August Heart Health Fair in Kansas City
Sister to Sister, in partnership with the Muriel
Kauffman Women's Heart Center of Saint Luke's Hospital, hosted
a heart health fair on August 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sprint
Festival Plaza in Kansas City's Union
Station. Cardiologist Dr. Tracy Stevens was a featured speaker
at the event.

Free heart health screenings were provided to the first 250 attendees
and included:
- Blood pressure
- Cholesterol
- Blood glucose
- Body Mass Index(BMI)
- Waist circumference
- Triglycerides
The
health fair was part of "The
Good, The Bad, and The Forgotten Fat" initiative, a national campaign
focusing on women, heart disease, and triglycerides sponsored by an educational
grant from Abbott. All screenings were provided by Specialized Screening
Services, and underwritten by Sister to Sister.
