Build Up Physical Activity Slowly


If you haven’t been physically active for years, be sure to start with a goal that is realistic and manageable for you. You might start with 20 minutes of walking twice a week for 2 weeks. If that is too much, start with 10 minutes. Just be sure that the activity you’re doing is realistic for what your body can do.

Start Walking to Lose Belly Fat


Studies show that one of the best ways to lose stubborn belly fat is to start walking. A review of 40 years of studies found that just 2 ½ hours of brisk walking a week, about 20 minutes a day, can shrink your belly by about 1 inch in 4 weeks. If you can’t do 20 minutes yet, start with 10 and work your way up. Every bit helps!

Grab your iPod, CD player, tape deck, or radio and listen to your favorite music. New research shows that listening to one's favorite music can improve blood vessel function and cardiovascular condition. In fact, listening to favorite music dilates blood vessels in the same manner as positive emotions such as laughing, exercising or taking blood pressure medication.

Walk a Mile a Day to Shave Off 10 Pounds


Walking 1 mile burns about 100 calories. So, adding a 1-mile walk to your daily regiment can result in a in a 10-pound weight loss per year.
